Gliwice-Silesia 2019🇵🇱 Poland

🇵🇱 DAY 2 REVIEW: A futuristic and heroic performance from Poland’s Viki Gabor

It is day 2 of rehearsals ahead of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019! The countries rehearsing today are The Netherlands, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Spain, Ukraine and Wales.

Read our handy guide for a more detailed look at this contest’s rehearsal schedule.

Rehearsing today for Poland inside the Gliwice Arena is Viki Gabor, performing “Superhero”. As the first rehearsals are closed to the press, this review is based upon content made public by the EBU and TVP.

Viki takes to the stage in a wonderfully shiny futuristic-looking outfit, which is silver and green in colour. She is joined by five backing dancers, two boys and three girls. All of them are dressed in smart casual suits of different pastel colours: blue, purple, green, red and pink.

We see two of the dancers peel off the stage before the first chorus kicks in as the remaining three perform choreography with Viki reminiscent of the moves seen in the official “Superhero” music video.

Viki’s LED backdrop is primarily blue in colour as we see images of the Earth’s landscape, such as the ice caps melting into the ocean. This is, of course, to enforce her message of saving the world!

Stay tuned for our reviews for the rest of today’s rehearsals from the Gliwice Arena. If you want to know what to expect for the rest of the day, check out our rehearsal schedule.

My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
