Gliwice-Silesia 2019🇵🇹 Portugal

🇵🇹 DAY 2 REVIEW: Portugal’s Joana Almeida is full of inspirational messages

It is day 2 of rehearsals ahead of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019! The countries rehearsing today are The Netherlands, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Spain, Ukraine and Wales.

Read our handy guide for a more detailed look at this contest’s rehearsal schedule.

Rehearsing today for Portugal inside the Gliwice Arena is Joana Almeida, performing “Vem comigo (Come with Me)”. As the first rehearsals are closed to the press, this review is based upon content made public by the EBU and TVP.

Joana performs her entry alone on stage, dressed in a black top and light-brown coloured flared skirt. The Portuguese LED backdrop makes use of bold and bright colours, as it fliks between pink, purple, blue and red!

We get to see some inspirational messages appear on the LED throughout the performance, such as “Together We’re Strong”, “Nature Is Our Mother”, “Come With Me” and “Let’s Make It Happen Now!”

It’s a bright and passionate performance from Joana who delivers her message with strength.

Stay tuned for our reviews for the rest of today’s rehearsals from the Gliwice Arena. If you want to know what to expect for the rest of the day, check out our rehearsal schedule.

My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
