🇷🇺 DAY 2 REVIEW: Tatyana and Denberel are ready to save the world for Russia

It is day 2 of rehearsals ahead of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019! The countries rehearsing today are The Netherlands, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Spain, Ukraine and Wales.

Read our handy guide for a more detailed look at this contest’s rehearsal schedule.

Rehearsing today for Russia inside the Gliwice Arena is Tatyana Mezhentseva and Denberel Oorzhak, performing “A Time for Us”. As the first rehearsals are closed to the press, this review is based upon content made public by the EBU and TVP.

Tatyana and Denberel begin their performance centre stage, with a small distance between them. They are dressed in similar outfits of different colours, Tatyana in white and Denberel in gold. They have matching belts and matching boots which almost gives them the look of spacemen and women.

This is likely the aim of their costumes as the LED backdrop portrays space-like imagery with various stars in a dark sky. As the verse progresses we see other shapes appear on the LEDs, blue and purple in colour. As the duo sing the lyric “to save the world”, we get a spherical image in the background.

The performance is focused on the two talented performers as they deliver their message of saving the world!

Stay tuned for our reviews for the rest of today’s rehearsals from the Gliwice Arena. If you want to know what to expect for the rest of the day, check out our rehearsal schedule.

My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
