🇬🇪 Georgia: The results of the third live show of Georgian Idol

For the second year in a row, GPB have opted with Georgian Idol 2020 to select their representative. Tornike Kipiani wins the 3rd live show of Georgian Idol for the second consecutive week. The winner of the show will get to represent Georgia in Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

The third live show – Georgian Idol 2020

Eight contestants remained and one had to to leave the show this week-end. At the third Georgian live Show, they were asked to perform well known Georgian songs live, with a television audience voting for the candidate of their choice through traditional telephone voting and via Facebook messenger vote.
The two contestants who got the lowest percentage of the vote were Nika Kalandadze with Mariam Gogiberidze, with Nika finally leaving the show since she got the lowest percentage of votes.

1.) Tornike Kipiani – “Artificial Love” – 21.17%
2.) Barbara Samkharadze – “ლალე” (“Lale”) – 14.75%
3.) Tamar Kakalashvili – “ქუჩაში ერთხელ” (Once in the street”) – 14.64%
4.) Anri Guchmanidze – “გამოგივა ხვალ” (“Will come out tomorrow”) – 10.01%
5.) Davit Rusadze – “არ მაძინებს” (“I don’t sleep”) – 10.01%
6.) Mariam Shengelia – “მხოლოდ შენთვის” (“Only for you”) – 9.98%
7.) Mariam Gogiberidze – “იძინებს მზე” (“Fall Asleep in the Sunlight”) – 9.91%
8.) Nika Kalandadze – “ქარი კვლავ არხევს” (“The win blows again”) – 9.53%

Unlike this year where Georgian Idol selected both the artist and the song that represented Georgia in the Eurovision Contest, for 2020 only the artist will be selected through the popular talent show. The song however, will be chosen separately afterwards.

Tornike Kipiani, that won the third show also won the 2014 edition, where his mentor was none other than Tamta, who represented Cyprus earlier this year. He also competed in Georgia’s national selection in 2017 with the song â€œYou Are My Sunshine”.
Barbara Samkharadze (pictured) is also a talent show regular.
She won Georgia’s Got Talent in 2015.

Georgia in the Eurovision 2019

Earlier this year Georgia was represented by Oto Nemsadze in Tel Aviv. However, Oto did not manage to qualify to the Grand Final ending up in 14th place in one of the semifinals.
