Ronela Hajati releases “Sekret” revamp

The revamp is no longer a secret!

Back in December, Ronela Hajati won Albania’s Festivali i Këngës with “Sekret”. As is common for Albania, the song has undergone a revamp ahead of Eurovision. Having flown to London to record the new version, she previously teased details via her Twitter. Today, the music video has been released!

Last week, Ronela announced that the highly-anticipated music video for the revamp would be released on Friday March 4 (today!). Since January, Ronela has been teasing clips and visual teasers of both the revamp and the music video shoot, ahead of today’s release via the official Eurovision channel.

You can watch the music video below:

Albania and Eurovision revamps

Albania participated in the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in 2004. The country’s best result was reached in 2012, when Rona Nishliu placed 5th with her powerful Albanian language ballad “Suus”.

In the 10s, Albanian Eurovision revamps became notorious for stripping Festivali i Këngës entries of their Albanian lyrics and instrumentation, and often resulting in non-qualification (see: 2014, 2016 and 2017). However, since 2018, Albania has qualified for the Grand Final with entries fully in Albanian.

In 2021, Anxhela Peristeri won the Festivali i Këngës 59 with the song “Karma”. Albania qualified for the Grand Final and placed 21st with 57 points overall. Will Ronela make it four years in a row?
