🇦🇱 Elvana Gjata smashes all-time RTSH YouTube record in 3 days

The countdown to Festivali i Këngës 58 is in full swing with the first semi-final just seven days away. Since the release of the 20 competing entries on YouTube on Monday, the songs have been amassing thousands of views. Now, one in particular has just broken an all-time record!

A fairytale for Elvana

The official music video for Eneda Tarifa’s Eurovision version of “Fairytale” from 2016 had held the honour of being the most watched video on the RTSH YouTube channel, the official channel of the Albanian broadcaster. Remarkably, in just three days, one of the entries of next week’s competition has beaten that record. Step forward Elvana Gjata!

1.3 million views in 3 days!

Yes, Elvana’s audio video of “Me tana” has amassed 1.255 million views at the time of writing and enough to surpass “Fairytale” which had received 1.254 million views. To achieve this record in just three days is a mightily impressive feat. “Me tana” has also entered the YouTube trending charts of multiple countries around Europe!

Good support for Arilena

Credit must also be given to Arilena Ara whose audio video of “Shaj” is also on the brink of RTSH’s all-time YouTube top ten with 350k views.

Elvana and her listeners will be hoping this record-breaking YouTube support will continue into Festivali i Këngës next weekend where she must impress an international jury.

Do you think she should become Albania’s representative in Rotterdam? Let us know!

Ryan Cobb

My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
