A few hours ago Lucie Jones, the UK’s representative in the 2017 contest announced her first solo West End concert. Tickets will go on sale at 10am tomorrow, with pre-sale tickets available right now. She will be accompanied by the 22 piece London Musical Theatre Orchestra, who will be conducted by Freddie Tapner.
The event will be hosted at the Adelphi Theatre on the 22nd February, the same venue where Lucie currently plays Jenna in the critically acclaimed West End production of Waitress. While the specific set list has not been revealed, Lucie will perform songs spanning her illustrious career in musical theatre, such as Legally Blonde, The Wedding Singer, Rent, Ghost the Musical and Les Miserables.
The announcement comes just over a decade since Lucie participated in the sixth season of X Factor UK, where she came 8th. This season has a strong Eurovision connection, including Danyl Johnson who also attempted to represent the UK in 2017. It also included Jedward who represented Ireland in 2011 and 2012 respectively.
Lucie Jones in Eurovision 2017
Lucie Jones represented the United Kingdom in Kyiv with the song ‘Never Give Up On You’. The song was co-written by none other than Emmelie de Forest – who won the contest for Denmark in 2013.
Lucie came 10th with the juries following a powerhouse vocal and a mesmerising reflective staging concept. This marked the best jury score for the UK this decade! Overall, she came 15th with 111 points, making it the UK’s forth best result this century!
