🇺🇦 Andriy Danylko confirmed as Vidbir 2020 judge

A few months ago, it was confirmed that Ukraine will be returning to the competition in 2020. With their return to the competition, it was confirmed that Vidbir will be used to select their Eurovision 2020 participant and entry.

It has now been confirmed, that Andriy Danylko, known to Eurovision fans as the Verka Serduchka will be joining the panel of Vidbir once again for the 2020 edition.

A staple to the Vidbir panel

Andriy has been part of the Vidbir jury since its inception, back in 2016. The other two judges that will make up of Vidbir will be announced at a later date. During the 2019 and 2018 edition of Vidbir, Andriy has been joined by Eurovision 2016 winner Jamala and Yevhen Filatov, creator of the group Onuka.

Verka Serduchka at the Eurovision Song Contest

In 2007, Ukraine held a National Final in order to select its Eurovision entry. Andriy (Verka) managed to win the show with the song ‘Dancing Lasha Tumbai‘. During Verka’s participation in Helsinki, Ukraine managed to place 2nd with 235 points.

Since participating at the Eurovision Song Contest, Verka has become a household name in Ukraine and in the Eurovision fandom. During the 2019 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, Verka was included in the ‘Switch Song‘ segment of the show. 2018 Eurovision runner-up Eleni Foureira sang a version of ‘Dancing Lasha Tumbai’ while Verka sang a version of the 2018 winning song ‘Toy
