LRT Chief Producer, Audrius Giržadas

“This year’s national selection will see new faces as well as a few of the old contestants. It is gratifying that the interest in Eurovision in Lithuania is not diminishing – the competition has a loyal crowd of fans and the national selection attracts many people who want to try their hand every year. We are going to hear a lot of interesting and talented performers in the national selection, so now we have a responsibility to choose the only song that will be on the big Eurovision stage,” said LRT Chief Producer, Audrius Giržadas.

Lithuania at Eurovision

Lithuania first entered the contest in 1994 with “Lopšinė mylimai” by Ovidijus Vyšniauskas. Last year in Tel Aviv, Jurijus Veklenko sang “Run With The Lions” and came 11th in Semi-final 2 with 93 points, narrowly missing out on the Grand final. Next year in Rotterdam will be the Baltic nation’s 21st Eurovision appearance.

As a writer with the Eurovision disposition it was only inevitable that I should find myself merging these two interests. If it wasn't Sonia singing "Better the Devil You Know" that got me hooked on Eurovision, then it was the Gina G banger "Just a Little Bit". The 90's is where it all started for me, who knows where I'll end up!
