Roger Pontare jailed for drunk driving

The two time Swedish Eurovision representative has been arrested and sentenced to prison for driving while drunk on the E4, a main bypass in Sweden and Finland.

Pontare, now 71, was arrested on January 28 on the E4 north of Örnsköldsvik after he was seen swerving and driving on the curb.

The Swedish singer had a blood alcohol content of 0.17%, according to Aftonbladet, and was sentenced to two months in prison.

Pontare admitted that he had been drinking and driving to SVT Västernorrland, saying he thought about not driving drunk but ultimately did it anyway.

This comes 15 years after being arrested for the same crime in 2008. Since then, he has only released one album and one stand-alone single.

Pontare represented Sweden at Eurovision in 1994 and 2000, placing 13th and 7th respectively.
