After getting signed to a new record label, Australia’s Eurovision 2016 representative Dami Im has released her new single ‘Paper Dragon’, which is her first release in two years.

About ‘Paper Dragon’
Upon the release of ‘Paper Dragon’, Dami has revealed more about the track on her website. This is where she has revealed, that ‘Paper Dragon’ was suppose to be her entry for Eurovision: Australia Decides. If you would remember, Dami announced her participation for the 2021 edition of the competition earlier this year.
However, as Montaigne was confirmed as Australia’s 2021 Eurovision representative, the 2021 edition of Eurovision: Australia Decides will not take place. However, it’s been revealed that it will return in 2022. Whether Dami will throw her hat in the ring once again?; only time will tell.
Dami co-wrote the song with Elanor Witt, and was produced by Konstantin Kersting. ‘Paper Dragon’ is a nod to Dami’s love of synth pop, reminiscent of her hits ‘Super Love’ and ‘Gladiator’.
Upon the motivation to release the track, Dami mentions that “we need something fun and colourful and happy.”

Dami Im at the Eurovision Song Contest
In 2016, Dami Im was internally selected to represent Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest. Her participation in Stockholm, saw Australia qualify for the Grand Final for the first time, where she ended placing 2nd. Her participation is Australia’s best result to date.
