🇫🇮 More information and song release schedule revealed for UMK20

Krista Siegfrids returns as host

Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK) 2020 will serve as Finland’s national selection for the ninth time this year. The six artists competing in the final of this year’s contest will be releaved on January 21st, but we already have some more information on how the songs will be released.

One song every weekday

According to Yle’s on-demand service Yle Areena, the songs will be released every weekday starting on Friday, January 24th. The second song will be released on Monday, January 26th and the last three songs over the same week.

Yle will show short documentaries about each song and a lyric video for the songs.

Krista Siegfrids and Mikko Silvennoinen to host

Krista Siegfrids will host the final for the fifth time. Mikko Silvennoinen is also returning again as the commentator for the show.

426 songs were submitted to the contest. The final will take place in Tampere on March 7th. Tickets won’t be sold to the event. The winner will be selected by the Finnish public and a jury.
