Did you hear? Eurovision tidbits, week 3/20

We have checked out even the most remote corners of the Euroverse, searching for "not so breaking" news to keep you entertained. On our trip we found some very recent tidbits, but we also stumbled across a few not so recent ones that we believe you might appreciate. Oh, and the Xtra good goodiebag is back! Enjoy! Victor(y) for Franka! Let's start this round-up of tidbits with the happiest of them all; Victor has arrived! A week ago Franka gave birth to her and husband Vedran's first child; beautiful baby boy Victor! Welcome Victor, and congratulations Franka and Vedran! https://www.instagram.com/p/B68sW62gz4r/ A stranger at Carola's house Carola and her family recently returned to Sweden after spending Christmas in South Africa. On Tuesday night a rather scary thing happened to them, when a stranger knocked on their door and demanded to be let in. He said he had come "all the way from the west coast" to give her flowers. It turned into an unpleasant situation when Carola explained to the man that no matter how far he had traveled she wouldn't let him in. Carola was in the house with her daughter Zoe and their au pair Gretta at the time. They live in a closed park area, and this happened after the park was closed for the night. A neighbour, who observed the man enter the area after closing time, called the police. Carola says on her Instagram that it feels safe when the police stops by to check that everything's fine. https://www.instagram.com/p/B7UN_H5BESI/ SoMe detox for Lena A short while ago, Lena announced that she's doing a social media detox in the new year. She didn't say anything about when she will be back. Great news for the many of us who adre PÆNDA and her music! She announced the new song on her Instagram yesterday, stating that she's been on pins and needles, but can now finally share the news with us. More Icelandic tidbits! The 2019 Icelandic Eurovision entry, "Hatrið mun sigra" won the "Song of the year" award in this year's Grapevine Music Awards. This is the first time they have won this title. They have however won the award "Best Live Band" twice; in 2017 and 2018. We congratulate Hatari with this award and hope they have huge success on their European tour this winter/spring! Belgian representative from 2015, Loic Nottet, had to undergo surgery after a skiing accident. He was transported to hospital in a police helicopter, and is now recovering in the hospital. He injured his shoulder, but is positive regarding his recovery. https://www.instagram.com/p/B68c11XDY0p/ He's also teasing the release of his new single "Heartbreaker" https://www.instagram.com/p/B7LOkOfDeVU/ The end of the dancing road for Regína Ósk As we reported in the Icelandic tidbits, Regína Ósk participated in this year's "Allir geta dansað", the Icelandic version of "Dancing with the stars/Strictly come dancing". She was one of the favorites, but this week marked the end of her dancing journey. Regína Ósk and partner Maxim did a fierce quickstep, but the audience decided that they didn't do it well enough. https://www.instagram.com/p/B7LWoxmAzhl/ Regína expresses her disappointment in not getting to keep learning and improving. However, as she said; that's the way this show works. She also said that she will keep working on her health journey, and reveald that she's lost 13 kilos since September! Regína recommends dancing for feeling good both physically and mentally! She feels better than she has for years! At the end of her Instagram post she writes: Now I will concentrate on my music again and will release a new song in the coming days. 🙂 Might she be hinting at a Söngvakeppnin participation? We'll have to wait until Saturday night to find out for sure, when RÚV announces all the participants and songs in a live broadcast!
