Tonight, the second Semi-Final of Melodi Grand Prix took place tonight. Artists from Eastern Norway competed for a spot in the Grand Final of Melodi Grand Prix. After a series of duels, it was confirmed that Rein Alexander won the second Semi-Final.
How the act was selected in tonight’s show?
The winner of tonight’s show was selected in a series of duels. The four acts first competed in two duels, to then determine the final two. (The act that won the duel is highlighted in Bold)
Duel 1
- Tore Petterson – “The Start of Something New”
- Kim Wigaard & Maria Mohn – “Fool for Love”
Duel 2
- JÆGER – “How About Mars”
- Rein Alexander – “One Last Time”
In addition to the duels taking place tonight, pre-qualified participant Didrik & Emil Solli-Tangen also performed their entry ‘Out of Air’. Melodi Grand Prix will continue its search for its 2020 Eurovision entry next Saturday, where artists from Central Norway compete for a spot in the Grand Final.
Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019
Norway selected KEiiNO through its national selection ‘Melodi Grand Prix’ to represent them in Tel Aviv with their song ‘Spirit in the Sky’.
In Tel Aviv, KEiiNO managed to bring Norway to the Grand Final for a third consecutive year. The group managed to win the popular vote and placed sixth overall in the competition with 331 points.
