Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest

Latvia debuted at the beginning of the new millenium. They did that in a very succesful way by finishing third with the song ‘My Star’ by Brainstorm. Two years later they even managed to win the Eurovision Song Contest thanks to Marie N and ‘I Wanna’. Since then, Latvia has experienced a fluctuation from successful entries to unfortunate low finishes. In recent years, the Baltic state has been less successful, as they have already missed the final three times in a row. Last year, Carousel represented Latvia with the song ‘That Night’. That song was good enough to finish 15th in the second semi final.
