The story of KEiiNO is still a long way off. Since their successful participation in the Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv, they spoil us with their music. On 31 January, their newest song ‘Colours’ came out.
Unity in diversity
With the song ‘Colors’, Tom, Fred and Alexandra want to send a specific message to the world: Unity in diversity. The song contains some special elements. For example, Tom sings parts in Northern Sami, a language on UNs list or highly endangered languages. On this recording, you can hear children joiking along with Fred. The children are familiar faces for Fred, because he knows them through his job as a teacher. Teaching kids how to joik and speak Sami was how Fred found his inner joiker. Now, they stand by his side on this new single.

Campaign to make all of Norway joik
The idea behind this song came from Norwegian broadcaster NRK. With their ‘Joikebølgen’ campaign, they want to get their entire population interested in that part of their culture. NRK was looking for a band that wanted to promote joiken and Sami with a song, and who else but KEiiNO would be more suitable for that at the moment? They are so loved both in Norway and abroad. NRK asked for a song that could be unite generations in song and joik, and KEiiNO has once again delivered a song that makes you want to dance and join the fun.
Music video coming soon
Those who follow Tom, Fred and Alexandra on Instagram have undoubtedly noticed that they were working on the music video. To make that clip, they went to the far north of Norway. We have to wait a little while for the result of the clip. Once it’s online, we will add it here.
