The Latvian televoters preferred Katrina Dimanta

Samanta Tina was crowned as the winner of Latvia’s Eurovision selection Supernova 2020 last Saturday. The broadcaster LTV has revealed the full results of the final. It shows that Samanta Tina won the internet votes, but finished second in the televote behind Katrina Dimanta.

This year the winner of Supernova was selected alone by the public. There were two ways to vote, either through internet or with mobile phone. The online voting was open for viewers outside Latvia as well.

The winner Samanta Tina got massive 39,24 percent of the votes casted online. The winner of the televote was Katrīna Dimanta, who eventually finished second with her song “Heart Beats”. She got 34,98 percent of the televotes.

Otherwise the online voters and the televoters agreed with most of the results. The online voters placed Driksna last, while the televoters liked Katrina Bindere the least.

I started watching Eurovision back in 2006, when I was only 10 and couldn't stay up to see Lordi winning. I attended my first contest in 2013 in Malmö and been to all the contests ever since. I'm studying journalism and I love music — you will probably never see me without my headphones on.
