Eurovision anthem contest for EBU’s 70th anniversary

The EBU has an interesting prize for the winner!

Happy birthday! On Wednesday, 12 February, the European Broadcasting Union celebrated its 70th anniversary. The EBU announced a competition especially for this birthday. Do you want to participate? Then read this article for further instructions!

Creative competition with the Eurovision anthem

We all know the Te Deum in the meantime, the piece of music that makes blood flow faster for every Eurovision fan. The EBU gives everyone the chance to redesign the Te Deum. How? Play the anthem on spoons, do it as rap, folk, opera, make-up or drum and bass. Go solo, improvise a choir, go vocal, local or global – it’s your call. The most important thing is that you can let your creative mind work in full mode.

Have you forgotten what the Te Deum by Marc-Antoine Charpentier sounds like? Then listen here!

Where to hand in your video?

Entries must be posted on Instagram in the form of a video (of 60 seconds or less), between 12 February and 1 April 2020, using hashtag #EBU70contest and tagging @ebu_hq.

The winning entry will be selected towards the end of April. The contest is open to people over 18 years old – check the rules first.
