Wildcard

As always, RÚV had the option of awarding a wildcard, if they felt that there was an additional song that deserved to be in the final. It has been close to a demand from the Eurovision interested public this past week, that the wildcard come into play. And most people have wanted Elísabet to get it.

And tonight we got our answer; RÚV decided they wanted a five song final, so they did use the wildcard. The decision was taken to give it to Nína. The running order for the final has not been announced yet, but the five finalists are:

  • DIMMA
  • Ísold og Helga
  • Daði Freyr og Gagnamagnið
  • Íva
  • Nína

Söngvakeppnin will now take a weekend off, before the big final which takes place in Laugardalshöll on 19 February. We will be back with the runningorder and language selections as soon as they are announced.

What is your favorite in the final? Do you think one of these songs might be a potential Eurovision winner?
