The Eurovision fandom is full of traditions and on the last day of the year, ESC250 sure is the one. For the thirteenth time, songfestival.be and ESCRadio have organised #ESC250. The list containing the 250 most loved Eurovision songs of all time will be broadcast today on ESCRadio. ESCXTRA will be with you all day to bring you the results live on Twitter and in this article!

#ESC250 history

2021 will be the thirteenth edition of the #ESC250. Aside from the tradition to host it on 31st December, it’s also a bit of a tradition that Loreen tops the list. The only other songs that have ever won ##ESC250 are Neka Mi Ne Svane (#102 last year), Is It True (#68) and Lane Moje (#37). Last year, her “Euphoria” was the clear #1 for the eighth time already. Joining her in the top five were Eleni Foureira’s Fuego, as well as Arcade by Duncan Laurence, Amar Pelos Dois by Salvador Sobral and the 2019 televoting winner KEiiNO with Spirit in the sky. The only 2020 song to make the top ten last year was Fai Rumore, the Italian entry by Diodato. The classics suffered a bit last year, with the oldest song in the top ten only dating back to 2012: Quédate Conmigo by Pastora Soler.

Dansevise, the winning entry from 1963 by Grethe and Jørgen Ingmann was the oldest entry on the list, coming in at #131. The oldest non-winning song to make the list last year was Yo soy aquel – the 1966 Spanish entry by Raphael at #173. ‘Only’ 20 songs from 2020 made the list last year – a lot less than we’d normally expect from the most recent year. It is widely expected that we’ll see a lot of these songs maybe even vanishing from the list completely.
