WATCH: Dotter releases brand new single ‘Heatwave’

Dotter's first new music since her Melodifestivalen 2018 song 'Cry'

Dotter has today released her new single ‘Heatwave’, her first since her appearance at Sweden’s Melodifestivalen 2018 national selection.
The song was written with London-based Grammy nominated producer Michael Angelo. Michael has previously worked with the likes of Sam Smith, Tineie Tempah, Ella Eyre, Hilary Duff as well as some Swedish Eurovision linked artists such as Mans Zelmerlow and Eric Saade.

“Heatwave is a love story that never got a chance that was broken before it really could be called a relationship. But even a short-lived superficial relationship can be as heartbreaking as a big break up and can be more difficult to let go of because you never know what it could have been. “

Dotter directed the music video along with Julius Hayes who has helped to realise her vision.

“In my world, it’s the details that make things lift, it’s noticeable when you’ve done something with care in a genuine way. It gives me an impression and therefore I want to be as careful myself when I create something I love. I have put a lot of love in the video, from first idea to final cut. To me, it’s important to be a part of the entire creative process.”

Dotter at Melodifesivalen

Johanna ”Dotter” Jansson was a favourite in the lead up to Melodifesivalen 2018 with her song ‘Cry’. She competed in 2017 as a songwriter for Mariette’s “A Million Years”and teamed up with Peter Boström, Linnea Deb, and Thomas G:son for her own 2018 entry. However her song and dramatic performance on semi-final 3 was not enough to reach the final in Stockholm. Maybe one year she will come back fighting to win the contest…?
