Rehearsal review

Firstly, remind yourselves what happened in the first rehearsal:

And now here is what we’ve noticed in today’s second rehearsal:

The outfits and styling of Jendrik and his dancers are essentially the same for this second rehearsal. Jendrik’s vocals feel a little more relaxed than in the first rehearsal and there’s more ad-libbing. The interplay between the five no stage is all neat and tidy, and the few loose camera shots from the first rehearsal seem to be cleared up.

“It’s so lovely, and so wholesome”, says our Tim on the livestream, whilst Julian comments “infectious to watch… where other performances take themselves so seriously, this is a breath of fresh air.”

As before, Jenrik offers an impromptu spoken segment and is not revealing what he will say in the jury final or grand final next week. Today there’s an inclusive greeting in German, welcoming “ladies, gentlemen, and those who don’t wish to choose.” Jendrik signs off in Dutch; “tot snel”, meaning “see you soon”.

Again the five on stage end on the B stage, as a huge word, HATE, is blasted from the LED screen, There’s a big whoop from Jendrik as the rehearsal concludes – he’s certainly satisfied with how it went.

Thumbs up or down?
