Željko’s ballad for Knez finally revealed

Nearly five months after being announced as Montenegro’s entrant at Eurovision 2015, Knez has today released the audio of ‘Adio’, with which he’ll compete in the second semifinal on 21 May. You can hear it on SoundCloud here.
‘Adio’ was written by a most familiar Eurovision face, Željko Joksimović, and show’s its composers hallmarks. Balkan themes and sounds frame a simple but effective melody. However, ‘Adio’ has a slightly more upbeat tempo than previous Eurovision songs from Željko and there’s a key change too.
For those of you born yesterday, Željko Joksimović earned second place for Serbia and Montenegro in 2004 with self-penned ‘Lane Moje’, before going on to author ‘Lejla’ for Hari Mata Hari competing for Bosnia in 2006. In 2008 he co-hosted the event in Belgrade, but was also the writer behind the home nation’s entry, ‘Oro’ by Jelena Tomašević. Most recently in 2012, Željko returned to the stage himself in Baku, finishing third with ‘Nije ljubav stvar’.
Five years’ Željko’s senior, Knez has a long successful career already behind him but will be making his first foray into the Eurovision world in 2015.
