According to Belgian news website LaMeuse, Loïc Nottet, who represented Belgium at Eurovision in 2015, will be joining the cast of “The Voice Belgique” when it returns next year. It follows the departure of three of the show’s coaches.
Loïc is no stranger to the talent show, taking part as a contestant in 2014, a year before he took to the Eurovision stage in Vienna. At Eurovision, he scored Belgium’s best result since Urban Trad in 2003, finishing in 4th place.
In the chairs with his old mentor?
“The Voice Belgique” is set for big changes when recording for the new series begins in October, with three of the four coaches from the 2019 series set to depart the show.
Alongside Loïc, Henri PFR and Beverly Jo Scott are set to take to the red chairs with remaining judge Typh Barrow. It won’t be a problem for Loïc to strike up a friendship with one of the coaches – Beverly Jo Scott. Beverly was his mentor when he finished runner-up on the show in 2014. She also co-wrote his Eurovision entry, “Rhythm Inside”.
The reports describe Loïc joining the panel as “the most beautiful surprise of a casting in the process of being finalised”. When he competed on the show in 2014, he finished in 2nd place behind Laurent Pagna.
Loïc wouldn’t be the first Eurovision star to become a coach on “The Voice Belgique”. 2001 French representative, Natasha St-Pier, coached on the show in series 2 and 3. Also, in series 4, Chimène Badi, who later took part in Destination Eurovision 2019, was a coach.

Belgian broadcaster RTBF announced in November 2014 that Loïc Nottet would represent Belgium in Vienna. His song, “Rhythm Inside”, was then revealed at a press conference in Brussels on 10 March 2015.
Taking part in the semi-final, Belgium scored an impressive 149 points, placing them 2nd and taking them through to the semi-final for the first time since 2013. In the final, he managed to score a top 5 placing, finishing 4th, out of a record 27 finalists, with 217 points. Belgium scored 3 sets of “douze points” from France, Hungary and the Netherlands.
