🇳🇱 Rotterdam City Council agrees to extra funding for Eurovision 2021

Will Rotterdam host Eurovision 2021?

We have previously reported that Rotterdam required an additional €6.7 million in order to host Eurovision in 2021. Today, Rotterdam City Council held a vote on whether or not they will provide the extra funding, and it resulted in a unanimous decision to provide the funding for Rotterdam to host Eurovision 2021.

Date for Eurovision 2021 confirmed?

As well as the confirmation that Rotterdam will grant the necessary funds to host the Eurovision Song Contest, it’s also been reported that the contest may potentially be scheduled to take place in the week of May 11.

With this announcement in place, it could be presumed that the contest may take place as follows:

  • Semi-Final 1 – May 11
  • Semi-Final 2 – May 13
  • Grand Final – May 15

As it was previously announced, the EBU is working on a possibility of Rotterdam hosting the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021. The EBU is yet to make further announcements in the future in regards to the 2021 edition of the contest.
