On the 10th of February, Finland will choose their Eurovision entry through their national final Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK), which will take place in the Nokia Arena in Tampere. We already heard about the running order, and now the interval acts have been announced as well!

Familiar names from UMK

All of the artists who will perform in the show will sound familiar to fans of the Finnish national selection. The opening act will be an “epic co-number” by KUUMAA and Benjamin, both of whom competed in the competition last year. KUUMAA’s song “Ylivoimanen” did not win the competition, but nonetheless because a huge success in Finland and was even the most played radio song in the country. Similarly, Benjamin saw huge success following the competition with his song “Hoida Mut” and will be hosting the show as well!

For the interval act, fans can expect “a colossal number” by Käärijä and Erika Vikman. Käärijä, of course, won UMK last year with his song “Cha Cha Cha” which would go on to get a second place in Eurovision, even winning the televote. Erika Vikman is a UMK legend, who competed with the song “Cicciolina” in 2020, which became a hit song in Finland. Käärijä and Erika Vikman have announced that they will release a song together, which will most likely be performed during the interval. In a statement to YLE regarding the interval act, Käärijä stated that:

“It’s absolutely amazing to return to the UMK stage, from where all this madness started last year. When we put two very distinctive characters on this same stage, it’ll surely be an unforgettable performance.”

Make sure to tune in to UMK on February 10th at 20:00CET! It is even possible to tune in to the show with English commentary on the YLE website.
