Yesterday on 30th of July three Eurovision one Romanian Eurovision artist celebrated her birthday, Today, however there are three Eurovision stars were born on this day. Three birthday girls from Portugal, Malta and Poland. Filipa Azevedo, Ira Losco and Renata Dąbkowska have a birthday today!
Renata Dąbkowska, 46
Poland picked the band Sixteen to go on their behalf to Eurovision in 1998. Renata was the lead singer. Therefore the traveled to Birmingham, UK to sing their entry “To Takie Proste”. The song got 19 point, that is it finished 17th out of 25 countries.
Ira Losco, 37
Ira Losco has represented Malta at Eurovision twice; in 2002 and 2016. In 2002 she performed the song “7th Wonder”, finishing in an impressive 2nd place, a mere 12 points behind Marie N and her “I Wanna” for Latvia. Fourteen years later she returned to the Eurovision stage. This time she took it one step further from a wonder to a miracle, with “Walk On Water”. She qualified for the grand final as number three from her semi-final. On the Saturday, however, she didn’t do quite as well; finishing just outside the top 10, in 12th place.Today it was annouced she would be one of the x-factor judges in Malta. But the winner will represent Malta at Eurovision.
Filipa Azevedo, 27
Filipa represented Portugal at the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo. She performed her song “Há dias assim” in the first semi-final. She managed to qualify for the grand final as number four from her semi. In the final she finished 18th.
