In 2008, Vânia Fernandes earned what would be Portugal’s best-ever result in a Eurovision semi-final up until the nation’s victory with Salvador Sobral in 2017. “Senhora do mar (Negras águas)” is amongst the most beloved Portuguese Eurovision entries and Vânia recently teamed up with composer Andrej Babić for a quarantine re-recording of the track!

Andrej is no stranger to the Eurovision Song Contest, writing his first Eurovision entry for Claudia Beni in 2003. “Više nisam tvoja” represented Croatia in Riga, earning 15th place. Amongst his repertoire for Portugal is another Portuguese Eurovision entry in the form of “Vida minha” for Filipa Sousa as well as Catarina Pereira’s fan favourite runner-up “Mea culpa” from Festival da Canção in 2014.
