Paris 2021🇬🇪 Georgia

Take a look at Niko Kajaia’s rehearsals and the voting details for Georgia at Junior Eurovision 2021

Junior Eurovision 2021 voting is open!

Voting is now open for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021! Once again, fans from all over the world can cast their votes for this year’s contest right now. But who should you vote for? To help you decide, let us take you through a review of each artist’s rehearsals and their voting details!

2. Georgia: Niko Kajaia – Let’s Count The Smiles

Performing 2nd in this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest live final will be Niko from Georgia with the song “Let’s Count The Smiles”. The track’s music and lyrics were written by Giga Kukhianidze, who was also behind Georgia’s wins at the Junior Eurovision song contest in 2008, 2011 and 2018.

Honestly, Niko Kajaia might just have the most colourful and fun performance we’ve ever seen! After a positive first rehearsal with impressive vocals and uplifting energy on stage, our first official look at Georgia’s performance gives off even more of those vibes. Niko and and his two dancers are colour coordinated and somehow don’t get lost in the colourful LED backdrop. The fact that all are donned in the three primary colours might have something to do with this. In short, they stand out and even for a minimalist person it is very visually appealing.

There is a balance of wide and close up shots in the rehearsal clip, but for a song with the title “Let’s Count The Smiles”, it can definitely benefit from focusing more on Niko and his dancers’ faces as they smile constantly! This is not to say the wide shots assist the performance, because it does help convey the fact that Niko is trying to convey his message to a multitude of people. Some of the transition shots are perhaps a little messy, especially from a wide pan of the stage to a close-up shot. Yet this is hardly a criticism as it will definitely look more effective with the live audience. Overall, the Georgian delegation can be super proud of what they have produced. Niko has definitely taken the charm and charisma from the music video directly with him to La Seine Musicale!
