Anis Don Demina and Dotter at Melodifestivalen

In 2019, Anis Don Demina made his debut at Melodifestivalen with Zeana with the song ‘Mina bränder’. Despite being popular with fans, they failed to make it past the semi-final.

Anis returned to Melodifestivalen as a solo act, where he participated with his song ‘Vem e som oss’, which saw him qualify for the Final through the second chance round. Anis managed to finish fifth overall with 82 points from the international jury and the public vote.

In 2017 JohannaMaria Jansson also known as Dotter made her Melodifestivalen debut. However she was not front and centre stage yet. Instead she was the co-writer of Mariette’s third participation with ‘A Million Years‘. They would go on to finish fourth in the final. Then in 2018 Dotter returned to make her debut as a solo artist in her own right. Despite ‘Cry’ being a fan favourite, the dark pop ballad was eliminated in sixth place in the semi-finals.

Last year Dotter returned to songwriting and came back with the Schlager anthem ‘Victorious‘ for Lina Hedlund. Although it didn’t quite live up to the name, it came a respectable 11th place in the final. This year saw the talented singer take to the stage again. Again tipped to win with its stirring message, ‘Bulletproof’ only missed out on victory by one point to ‘Move’ by The Mamas. The closest winning margin in Melodifestivalen since 2014.
