EurovisionVienna 2015

Full Eesti Laul voting results revealed

Estonian broadcaster ERR has revealed the full results breakdown for the 2015 edition of Eesti Laul. They are as follows:
Semi-Final 1

Entrant Jury Televote Total
Elisa Kolk – Superlove 9 10 (4263 votes) 19
Elephants From Neptune – Unriddle Me 10 4 (1207 votes) 14
The Blurry Lane – Exceptional 4 9 (2657 votes) 13
Maia Vahtramäe – Üle vesihalli taeva 5 8 (2444 votes) 13
Robin Juhketal & The Big Bangers – Troubles 8 5 (1377 votes) 13
Karl-Erik Taukar – Päev korraga 6 6 (1522 votes) 12
Liis Lemsalu & Egert Milder – Hold On 7 2 (1115 votes) 9
Bluestocking – Kordumatu 1 7 (2017 votes) 8
Airi Vipulkumar Kansar – Saatuse laul 2 3 (1186 votes) 5
Miina – Kohvitassi lugu 3 1 (719 votes) 4

Here we see major disagreements between the jury and the televoters with the exception of a few. Jury and Televoters were both highly in favour of Elisa Kolk, lukewarm to Karl-Erik Taukar and not impressed by Miina or Airi Vipulkumar Kansar, but that is where the agreement ends. Every other artist was in the top half of one party and the bottom half of the other. That being said the differences in the televoting after the top three were not that far away. 4th placed in the televote Bluestocking was only 902 televotes ahead of Liis Lemsalu & Egert Milder who finished second last.
Semi-Final 2

Entrant Jury Televote Total
Elina Born & Stig Rästa – Goodbye to Yesterday 10 10 (23996 votes) 20
Daniel Levi – Burning Lights 7 9 (3524 votes) 16
Triin Niitoja & John4 – This Is Our Choice 5 8 (2240 votes) 13
Kali Briis Band – Idiot 9 4 (1174 votes) 13
Luisa Värk – Minu päike 4 6 (1572 votes) 10
Kruuv – Tiiu talu tütreke 2 7 (1601 votes) 9
NimmerSchmidt – Kellaga ma tutvusin? 6 3 (980 votes) 9
Wilhelm – Light Up Your Mind 8 1 (766 votes) 9
Mari – Kolm päeva tagasi 1 5 (1420 votes) 6
Demie feat. Janice – Kuum 3 2 (851 votes) 5

The main thing that needs to be commented on here is the sheer numbers in which Elina Born & Stig Rästa earned. This is the highest number of televotes recieved for a single entry in a semi-final in Eesti Laul history beating Ott Lepland’s 2012 record by 17,720 votes. Not only that, but Elina & Stig gained 9858 more televotes than all 9 other semi-finalists combined. With the exception of Kruuv and Wilhelm the jury and public were mostly in agreement here too. This is also only the second time that a Jury and Televote have had the same favourite in an Eesti Laul semi-final, with the last time being in 2012 when both fell in love with Lenna’s ‘Mina Jään’.
Final

Entrant Jury Televote Total
Elina Born & Stig Rästa – Goodbye to Yesterday 10 10 (44974 votes) 20
Daniel Levi – Burning Lights 8 9 (7369 votes) 17
Elisa Kolk – Superlove 6 8 (5951 votes) 14
Elephants From Neptune – Unriddle Me 9 4 (2211 votes) 13
Triin Niitoja & John4 – This Is Our Choice 5 7 (4736 votes) 12
Robin Juhketal & The Big Bangers – Troubles 7 3 (1791 votes) 10
Kali Briis Band – Idiot 4 5 (2217 votes) 9
The Blurry Lane – Exceptional 1 6 (4360 votes) 7
Maia Vahtramäe – Üle vesihalli taeva 3 2 (1699 votes) 5
Luisa Värk – Minu päike 2 1 (1499 votes) 3

This is the first year in which the jury and the televote have given 10 to the same song in the first round and then had that song actually win. Lenna in 2010 and Super Hot Cosmos Blues Band in 2014 both went into the superfinal with 20 points, but then lost their respective superfinals. This is once again the highest number of televotes ever received in the first round of an Eesti Laul final, again beating Ott Lepland’s 2012 first round total by 26963 votes. With the exception for greater televote support for The Blurry Lane than in the jury, once again the voting results are relatively in agreement between the two.

Entrant Percentage
Elina Born & Stig Rästa – Goodbye to Yesterday 79%
Daniel Levi – Burning Lights 13%
Elisa Kolk – Superlove 8%

It’s often fun to try and read trends and patterns in the data, but this year there are less subtleties in the voting and there is one certainty. Estonia really, really, really wanted Elina Born & Stig Rästa to represent them in Vienna. So why not check out their song below…
