Rehearsal review

Rehearsing today for Georgia inside La Seine Musicale is Nikoloz Kajaia, performing “Let’s Count The Smiles”. As the first rehearsals are closed to the press, this review is based upon content made public by the EBU and France Télévisions.

“Let’s Count The Smiles” is an upbeat, happy song, as its name already suggests. Georgia has definitely leaned into this aspect with a colourful staging, both in clothing and backdrop. Niko is joined by two dancers during his performance, who are performing a fun choreography with him. Georgia definitely tried to create the same vibes from their music video on the stage, quite successfully so, though maybe it would have made more impact with a few more dancers.

Vocally, Niko is on point, sounding similar to the audio from the music video. What is particularly nice about this entry, in my opinion, is that it fits the theme of Junior Eurovision. The fun dances, captivating colours, and general song capture the spirit of a contest that is aimed at kids. Though people all ages can of course enjoy this entry!
