Back to her roots

Hanna Pakarinen rose to fame through Finnish Idol back in 2003. She was crowned as the first ever winner of the show and was later selected to represent Finland in 2007 when the contest took place in country’s capital Helsinki. She represented the country with the song “Leave Me Alone” and finished 17th in the final.

The other contestants include ABREU, who served as the spokesperson for Finland at the final of Eurovision 2018 and Swedish eurodance star Pandora.

Format based on Norway’s Stjernekamp

The ten artists will tackle different music genres every week and let the audience discover their hidden talents. “Tähdet, tähdet” is based on the Norwegian show Stjernekamp which premiered in 2012.

Finland’s 2002 representative Laura Voutilainen, 2008 representative, Teräsbetoni’s frontman Jarkko Ahola and 2013 representative Krista Siegfrids took part on the second season of the show. During the opera week, Krista Siegfrids wowed everyone with her rendition of aria “Una donna a quindici anni”.

More Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu contestants took part on the third season of the show, “Draamaa” singer Eini and Opera Skaala’s vocalist Essi Luttinen. The fourth season had Mikael Saari and Erika Vikman among the contestants. Erika Vikman made it to the Eurovision week of the show, where she performed Finland’s 1985 entry “Eläköön elämä”.
