Rūta has a very understated quality about her performance style. Simple, but effective, in a really captivating and radio-friendly way. She reminds me of early days Robyn and Tove Lo when they often released laidback anthems like this. The gentle melody compliments Rūta’s vocals and the subtle electronic beat in perfect harmony. I like the story behind the lyrics too in how it relates to supporting a partner through difficult times. Sometimes you just vibe with songs that mean something. I just wish this was the one getting local Lithuanians excited, because they would do well with this.

Isabella (12pts)

I was a fan of Rūta’s song, “We Came from the Sun” back in 2020 and “Call Me from the Cold” is no different. It’s honestly everything one could ask for in a song – it’s mysterious, dark and coupled with haunting and gentle vocals – a serious contender for the win in Pabandom iš naujo. Whilst the song does take time to build, I truly believe the wait is worth it, as the transition from mere piano chords every few seconds to the synth and beat drop halfway through shows great depth to the song and has a storytelling quality to it. I also love how Rūta is able to convey rawness and vulnerability at the same time as captivating us with her dulcet tones and really hope Lithuania recognises the potential this could have in Turin!
