🇬🇷 Greece: Stefania records five potential entries in Athens

She's due to make Greek TV appearances this week

Last month, it was announced that Stefania would be flying to Athens to record her Eurovision entry. Previously, she was due to record four songs with Dimitris Kontopoulos and ARCADE, one of which would be chosen to be her entry for Rotterdam. Now, she is currently in Athens recording five potential entries.

As reported by Eurovision Fun, Stefania is currently in Athens recording potential entries for Eurovision 2021. In a recent Instagram live video, Stefania can be seen in the studio alongside Dimitris Kontopoulos, ARCADE and Sharon Vaughn.

According to the site, five songs (not four) will be recorded in these sessions and submitted to ERT. It is not yet known how the entry will be selected; the past two years, the Greek entry has been selected internally by the broadcaster.

While in Athens, Stefania will be doing interviews with Greek media. Tomorrow she will make her first Greek TV appearance of the season with presenter Nadia Kontogiorgi on FLIRT on ERT1. Perhaps more details about the process will be revealed there?

Stefania’s Eurovision journey

Stefania’s Eurovision journey began back in 2016, when she participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest as a member of the group Kisses. They represent The Netherlands in Valetta with the song “Kisses & Dancin’”, finishing eighth.

Stefania had been selected internally to represent Greece at Eurovision 2020 in Rotterdam. She had been due to perform “SUPERG!RL” in the first half of semi final 2 in May.

Back in March, Greek public broadcaster ERT released a press statement to address the news about the EBU’s decision to cancel this year’s contest. In the statement, the broadcaster expressed their intentions to continue their cooperation with Stefania for next year. In July, we learned that her entry was in development.
