LRT from Lithuania have confirmed to ESCXTRA.com that they will not return to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2022. This will mark the eleventh consecutive non-participation for the Baltic nation.
2012 their last outing
Lithuania last participated at Junior Eurovision in the 2011 Yerevan contest. Back then, Paulina Skrabytė represented her country with “Debesys”, finishing tenth. Lithuania’s best result at the contest came back in 2008. Eglė Jurgaitytė managed to bring Lithuania its first ever top three result in a Eurovision competition by finishing third with “Laiminga Diena”.
Lina Patskočimaitė, Head of Press for Lithuania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, confirmed their non-participation to ESCXTRA.com. She said:
So far Lithuania doesn’t have a plan to participate at the Junior ESC.

Junior Eurovision 2022 so far
So far, only eight countries have confirmed their participation at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022. Following Maléna’s win in Paris last year, the contest will now travel to Yerevan for the second time.
The following countries will be there in Yerevan:
- Armenia
- Bulgaria
- France
- Georgia
- Ireland
- The Netherlands
- Poland
- Spain
