Rotterdam 2021🇫🇷 France

🇫🇷 French national final to take place in January

‘Eurovision France, c’est vous qui décidez’ will feature 12 artists

Back in July, it was announced that France will be using a national final format to select their Eurovision 2021 entry. This of course came after it was revealed that Tom Leeb would not be returning, following his internal selection for the 2020 contest.

France Télévisions has announced that ‘Eurovision France, c’est vous qui décidez’, will be held in January. Submissions for the selection had opened back in June.

The show will be a different format from that used in the beloved Destination Eurovision between 2018 and 2019. Rather than a semi-final format, this will be a one-night selection show. 12 artists will take part in total, and there will be a televoting aspect to the results.

The show is set to take place in a French ‘regional city’ (so not Paris), and will be hosted by commentator and television presenter Stephane Bern.

We will be sure to keep you posted with the exact date when this information is released.

France in Eurovision 2020

Tom Leeb was expected to represent France in Rotterdam this year with his song “Mon Alliée (The Best In Me)”. It was written by himself, Léa Ivanne, John Lundvik and Amir Haddad. The song was presented for the first time live from the Eiffel Tower in February.

Unfortunately, before Tom could take to the stage in The Netherlands, the Eurovision Song Contest was announced to be cancelled this year. Back in the summer, it was confirmed that Tom would not be returning for the 2021 contest.
