🇸🇪 Oscar Zia to host Melodifestivalen 2022! Tour is back – Final in Friends Arena!

This morning the Swedish broadcaster, SVT, announced that Oscar Zia will host Melodifestivalen next year. Moreover, the tour is back to normal with the final taking place in Stockholm in the Friends Arena! After the kick-off in Malmö on Saturday 5 February, the Melodifestivalen will continue to Gothenburg, Linköping, Lidköping, Örnsköldsvik and finally to Stockholm.

Swedens biggest party is back to normal!

Melodifestivalen’s project manager Anette Brattström is very pleased with the choice of host and is looking forward to planning for a tour. Melodifestivalen is the whole of Sweden’s party and we long to get out into the country and meet the audience again. We are hopeful, charged and believe in a tour but at the same time are compliant and humble in the face of a pandemic still going on.

And Oscar Zia is ready for the job:

It obviously feels like an honorable assignment – suddenly I’m in the line after Kristian Luuk, Petra Mede and Gina Dirawi. I have watched the Melodifestivalen since I was little, the whole family would watch and no one was allowed to talk, I did not want to miss a second! I am very excited to go on tour and I will do my best to lead the viewers through this party, says Oscar Zia.

The Melodifestivalen 2022 dates:

  • 5/2 Malmö – Malmö Arena
  • 12/2 Göteborg – Scandinavium
  • 19/2 Linköping – Saab Arena
  • 26/2 Lidköping – Sparbanken Arena
  • 5/3 Örnsköldsvik – Hägglunds Arena
  • 12/3 Stockholm – Friends Arena

This year Sweden was represented by Tusse and his song “Voices”. After having a landslide victory in Melodifestivalen, he reached the 14th place in the final in Rotterdam!
