Aimee Banks selected to represent Ireland at JESC

Last night in the TG4 studios in Dublin, Ireland’s first ever entry for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest was chosen!
After some extensive searching nationwide over the past few months, a process of  televised heats incl. 32 young singers and songs, it boiled down to the Final 6. The discovery of Ireland’s JESC representative was finally known and the prestigious title was awarded to Aimee Banks!
Aimee, 13, hails from Moycullen, Co. Galway in the west of Ireland. She will be performing in Irish her song Réalta Na Mara in Sofia. Rélta Na Mara translates into “Star of the Sea” and you can watch her stunning performance below:

Even at 13, Aimee’s fantastic vocal ability, elegance and stage presence will make for an ideal performance in Bulgaria. The song was composed and written by Niall Mooney, Jonas Gladnikoff, Brendan McCarthy and Aimee herself.
Earlier this year Ireland confirmed it’s very first participation in JESC and Aimee will be joining the 16 other competing countries in Bulgaria on November 21st. With the event less than 2 weeks away we’re sure Aimee and the Irish delegation have plenty to plan and organise between now and then.
Do you think Ireland will have that extra bit of Irish luck and win Europe over at JESC this year? Let us know what you think!
