🇸🇪 Kadiatou: “One Touch is my vision of how I want to be as an artist”

In the lead up to Melodifestivalen 2021, we had a chance to speak to the upcoming participants taking part in this year’s competition. We had the chance to speak to 2018 Idol Sweden runner-up Kadiatou. She will be making her debut in Melodifestivalen with the song ‘One Touch’.

About her Idol participation

During our interview with Kadiatou, we talked about her participation in Idol in 2018. She mentions that her participation has helped her grow as an artist. In addition, she mentions that hr Idol participation also helped her in terms of her preparations for Melodifestivalen.

When asked about her favourite Idol performance. She mentioned that she loves her performance of ‘Diamonds’ by Rihanna. It was one of the last songs that she performed, in order for her to get through tot he final.

In addition to Diamonds, Kadiatou also mentioned, that she also loved her performance of ‘Say Something’ by A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera. Her version was so popular, that it was featured in an episode of Grey’s Anatomy in the United States. (If you’re wondering, it’s Season 15, Episode 22, about 34 minutes in; You’re Welcome!).

Kadiatou’s Melodifestivalen participation

In regards to her Melodifestivalen 2021 entry ‘One Touch’. We asked her how her entry compares to the songs that she has released since Idol.

She has mentioned that her song is her vision of how she wants to be as an artist and that it’s more ‘Extra’.

Kadiatou will be performing 1st on the 1st semi-final of Melodifestivalen 2021 for a place in the final. The show is due to take place on the 6th February 2021.
