🇦🇿 Efendi to release Eurovision 2021 entry on the second week of March

It has been revealed that Efendi’s entry for Eurovision 2021 will be released next month. This comes after the broadcast extended the submission window for songs, and reported that 8 had been shortlisted after around 150 submissions.

Originally, iTV intended to close submissions for Efendi’s Eurovision 2021 entry on January 19. However, they later extended the deadline until yesterday (February 1).

As reported by 12xal, to no one’s surprise, Azerbaijan will be releasing their entry in March. This was revealed by vocal coach Mila Miles, who is currently working with Efendi, via her Instagram Story. She claims that the song will be released in the second week of March.

Once again, iTV is opting to internally-select their entry for Eurovision 2021. According to their most recent statement on the selection, there are eight songs in the shortlist.

About Efendi

Samira Efendiyeva gained popularity in Azerbaijan through a range of singing competitions and festivals. Her credits include Yeni Ulduz (2009), Böyük Səhnə (2014) and The Voice of Azerbaijan (2015), where she finished third place). She also placed third in Silk Way Star back in 2017, and returned to Kazakhstan in 2019 for the Voice of Nur-Sultan festival.

She was internally-selected by iTV to represent Azerbaijan last year with “Cleopatra”. Following the cancellation, but Azerbaijan chose to select her again for the 2021 contest.
