Turin 2022🇫🇮 Finland

BESS might change the language of “Ram pam pam” for Eurovision

Isaac Sene and Younghearted will keep their songs in Finnish

In today’s press conference, UMK22 finalist BESS said that she is still considering the language she will sing in at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, in case she wins the selection tonight.

BESS said she has been thinking about the possible English lyrics for her song “Ram pam pam” but has not made the final decision if she will sing in Finnish or English, in case she gets to represent Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. She said she will be in touch with the songwriters Tomi Saario and Jonas Olsson about the final decision after tonight’s final.

The first version of Younghearted’s song “Sun numero” was written in English, but at the Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu they are singing the song in Finnish. At the press conference they said they will keep the song in Finnish, in case they win UMK tonight. They hint that the English version – or even a version in Italian – might be released.

Isaac Sene, who is competing with “Kuuma jäbä” said that he will certainly keep his song in Finnish if he wins UMK22 and represents Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022.

The final of Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2022 will take place tonight at 20:00 CET. The winner and Finland’s Eurovision 2022 representative will be chosen by international jury (25% of the vote) and the Finnish public (75% of the vote). In Turin, Finland will compete in the second semifinal of the contest and will perform on the first half of the show on May 10th.
