🇬🇧 BBC promises 2021 artist and song news soon

The BBC has awoken!

The British broadcaster BBC has tweeted for the first time since May 2020 as part of the #100DaysToEurovision celebrations. On the tweet they promise news about the 2021 artist and song soon.

Eurovision week on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK

As we earlier reported, RuPaul’s Drag Race UK will have Eurovision week and the official BBC Eurovision Twitter woke up to promote this. As part of the tweet they promised that news about the 2021 artist and songs are coming soon.

Earlier this week it was reported that Fleur East has denied the rumours about her being United Kingdom’s next representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021.

Last December BBC’s Eurovision Series Producer Lee Smithurst, told in an interview with The Euro Trip podcast that he expects an announcement regarding the plans for the UK at Eurovision 2021 to be made in early 2021.

United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest

James Newman’s “My Last Breath” was due to be the entry for the United Kingdom in the cancelled Eurovision Song Contest 2020. Last year, the UK entry was announced on the 27th February.

United Kingdom debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1957 and has taken part in the contest every year since 1959. The country has won five times, most recently in 1997 when Katrina & The Waves sang “Love Shine a Light”.
