Listen to “Eyes Wide Open”

Rein Alexander has written the song together with Christian Ingebrigtsen and Kjetil Mørland. Mørland represented Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with Debrah Scarlett and the song “A Monster Like Me”. Christian Ingebrigtsen is known as the member of the group A1, who took part in Norway’s selection in 2010. He also co-wrote the Melodi Grand Prix 2020 winning entry “Attention”.

Last year Rein Alexander took part in Melodi Grand Prix with the song “One Last Time”. The song qualified to the final from the second semifinal but was eliminated on the first round of the final.

This year he has pre-qualified to the final and will compete to represent Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 on February 20th. However, we will see him performing his entry this Saturday as an interval act on the fifth semifinal.

This year’s Melodi Grand Prix has five semifinals in total, with four artists taking part in each of them. Next to that, six artists have pre-qualified to the final without having to compete in the semifinals. After the five semifinals, one more act will qualify to the final from the ones who failed to do before.
