🇦🇺 Montaigne interested in writing the 2023 Women’s World Cup song

It was announced that Australia and New Zealand were chosen to host the 2023 Women’s World Cup. Following the announcement, Montaigne has openly expressed her interest in writing the official song for the 2023 World Cup.

Montaigne starts a campaign!

As her country is hosting the World Cup, the singer has volunteered to the job of penning the event’s song. Specifically, she posted a Tweet saying that she will be “launching her campaign” in order to write the official song for the Women’s World Cup.

It is worth mentioning that Montaigne can be considered well experienced on the matters of football. Specifically, her father Gus Cerro was a football player in the Australian National Soccer League. Meanwhile, the singer herself has expressed interest on the sport several times, as she played at a for the Marconi Stallions and North West Sydney Koalas.

The fans agree!

After the singer announced her wish to write the World Cup song, her fans responded with massive support. One fan even started a petition demanding for the singer to be allowed to write the song for the event.

Montaigne did not only get support from fans, but also from some known names in Australia including writer Rebecca Shaw. Furthermore, the singer has also mentioned that other musicians would be “just as qualified” to do the job. She specifically mentioned in her tweets Nina Las Vegas and Alex the Astronaut.
