The latest artist to rehearse is Vanja Radovanović for Montenegro. We have just watched their second run through of Inje live on screen and here is our initial reaction.

Staging

The staging is similar to the first rehearsal just the camera shots are better and looks smother.
The performance begins with a short of the male pianist, before switching to Vanja. There are a few camera switches between these two. Vanja’s female backing vocalists are standing in a line behind him, with the pianist to the left. For the first chorus, his backing vocalists, all wearing head microphones, walk to the front of the stage to join Vanja. They perform simple and strong arm choreography.
The staging is very reminiscent of previous Balkan ballads, such as Knez’s “Adio” or Sanja Vučić’s “Goodbye” to name a couple. For the middle eight, the backing vocalists separate before walking back together for the final chorus. The dancers interact with each other and Vanja to show unity and strength. The lighting changes to gold for the climax.

Camera shots in this performance: 41

Vocals

The Montenegrin performers  are still all vocally excellent, with great harmonies and effectively recreate the sound of the studio version.

Costumes

Vanja is wearing a jacket and trouser set which seems to have a scaly texture to it. The colour of it is sky blue. His four female backing vocalists are all wearing white dresses with additional decoration over the shoulder.
