Luxembourg Song Contest participants revealed

Today, RTL Luxembourg has announced the participants for the Luxembourg Song Contest on RTL Today Radio. Find out who’s been selected below!

Joel Marques Cunha

The first candidate to be announced is Joel Marques Cunha, 26 years old. He has a Portuguese background and lives in Differdange. He is a professional singer who previously worked as an educator. In 2023, he reached the semifinals of The Voice of Germany (in the team of Bill & Tom Kaulitz) and only several days ago, he released his first single “Stranger“.

Naomi Ayé

Naomi Ayé Vajdovics Suárez is only 15 years old, but is already known as a singer, composer and pianist. She is Cuban-Hungarian and was born in Luxembourg City. At 7 years old, Naomi started following classical piano courses at the Conservatoire Ville de Luxembourg. In 2020, she reached the final of The Voice Kids France and became well known for her rendition of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”. In 2022, she released the single “Turn My Back On Light“.

EDSUN

EDSUN – real name Edson Pires Domingos – is 33 years old. He released his first EP, “N.O.”, in 2015. The following year, he released “Apologee”, of which the music video was awarded at the Luxembourg’s Video Clip Awards. In 2018, he released his next EP, was given the title of Artist of the Year at the Luxembourg Music Awards, and went on a tour. In 2023, he released two singles, “Just Text” and “Carter“.

Krick

Christine Heitz, known professionally as Krick, is 26 years old. She works as a nurse and singer. In 2014, she founded the cover duo The Daydreamer. In 2017, she participated in The Voice of Germany and reached the sing-offs. The following year, she released her first solo single, “Fake Cake“.

One Last Time

One Last Time is an alternative rock-pop band from Luxembourg. They released their first EP in 2022, and their latest single “Tequila” in 2023. The band consists of the following people:

  • Andrea Galleti – lead vocals, 30 years old, works as an advertising agent
  • Jonathan Fersino – bass, 31 years old, works in advertising and as a light and sound engineer
  • Barbara Salvi – keyboard, 26 years old, works as a French teacher
  • Tom Sagramola – guitar, 34 years old, works as a government official
  • Alessandro Sorbelli (Lalo) – drums, 24 years old, is self-employed.

TALI

TALI, real name Tali Golergant, is 23 years old and works as a theatre performer, vocal coach and music teacher. She wrote her debut single “Temporary” at only age 16. In 2021, she released her first EP “lose you”. Her latest single, released in 2023, is called “dancing alone“. She was alerted that she would be a finalist of the Luxembourg Song Contest via videocall, as she’s currently touring with her own music group in New York.

Angy & Rafa Ela

Angy & Rafa Ela form a duo full of previous experience in talent shows. Angy Sciacqua is 39 years old, works indepently as a singer, and was a finalist of The Voice Belgique in 2013. Rafaela Teixeira Fernandes is 26 years old and has won two large talent competitions: Luxembourg’s Next Popstar in 2016 and Top Voice Luxembourg in 2018.

CHAiLD

The final participant is Adriano Lopes Da Silva, known as CHAiLD. He has been an established singer-songwriter in Luxembourg for four years now. He lives and works as an aspiring electro-pop artist in Brussels. He has Italian roots and has already been the support act for Mahmood. His latest single is “URGENT CARE“, released in 2023.

What’s next?

The contestants are currently recording their entries. The songs will be released to the public in January. On 27 January, the live final of the Luxembourg Song Contest will take place in the Rockhal in Esch-sur-Alzette. Tickets for the live show will be available here. The TV broadcast will have commentary in Luxembourgish, French and English.
