The Scoop

Saara Aalto proved she is not scared of monsters and met Lordi in Lisbon

A day before the final of Eurovision 2018, Saara Aalto met the frontman of the only Finnish Eurovision winner Lordi. He gave her some advice and said that Finland can take the trophy again this year.
When asked, what advice Mr. Lordi can give to Saara, he told that Saara should just be herself. The biggest mistake she could make is trying to be something else she is not.

Stay true to what you are and it has to come from the heart.

“Finland can win”

Despite Mr. Lordi’s recent comments about Saara’s entry, he said that Finland can win the contest this year.

I think Saara can win. There is not a reason why Saara couldn’t win. Good song, amazing chorus, confident performer, great voice. There is not a single reason why Finland couldn’t win this year.

Last time Finland won, Saara hosted a party with her friends and told it was her best party ever. Mr. Lordi asked her, why wasn’t he invited and said that it was probably a better party than the one they had in Athens after winning the contest.

Why monsters?

In 2006 Finland won the contest with monsters and this year Saara is singing about monsters. When asked, why Finland keeps on going with the monster theme, Mr. Lordi had an answer very quickly — because monsters are so beautiful and so cool.
Saara said that Finland is just good with monsters, as they are dark and mystical. Perhaps like Finns themselves.
