Helena Paparizou serving summer fierceness

In recent posts on social media, Helena Paparizou already teased the release of her new solo single. It’s her first single of the year after releasing “Fevgo” in December 2022. In this new uptempo track, Paparizou shows us she’s ready for a strong summer. With her lover speaking in riddles and refusing to answer her questions, she makes herself one solid promise: He’s bad news, so she’s not backing down and not going back. She’s decided it’s time to erase him from her life altogether.

All of this determination happens in a catchy, summery, upbeat track with backing vocals supporting the song. A solid electronic instrumentation in the background helps to make this a surefire radio hit in Helena’s home country Greece.

Helena Paparizou herself is one of the producers of the song, alongside ARCADE and Nektarios Kokkinos. The songwriters behind “De Mou Ta Leei Kala” are Stan and ARCADE. The duo has been responsible for multiple dance pop club bangers in Greece. So there is some expectation… if you hit the clubs of Athens, Mykonos or Crete this Summer, you may well get to party to this new Paparizou track.

You can also still opt to go see Helena Paparizou live in concert. Recently, the singer announced a mini tour for the summer. Four dates remain in Thessaloniki (5th July), Volos (7th July), Chalkidiki (12th August) and Piraeus (4th September). Tickets for “Kalokairi 2023” are available here.

Helena Paparizou is one of the most successful and most iconic participants in Eurovision history. The Swedish born Greek singer took part twice. In Copenhagen 2001, she finished in third with Antique and “Die For You”, which was Greece’s best result in their history of taking part in the Eurovision Song Contest. Four years later, she returned solo with “My Number One” and took Europe by storm to claim victory in Kyiv. She was close to another Eurovision return twice more, being offered “Fuego” in 2018 for Cyprus and coming fourth in Melodifestivalen 2014 for Sweden with “Survivor”. Her most recent offer came in 2021 for Cyprus as well.
