Minsk 2018

First two Dutch Junior Eurovision candidate songs revealed

Two down, two to go

Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS has released the first two songs that will be performed at the Junior Songfestival on September 29 at Zulphen’s Hanzehof Theatre. Four artists will compete for a ticket to the 2018 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Minsk.

The songs (so far)

First to have their song revealed was the girl group Remix, consisting of Xanne, Jazz, Roula and Mimi. They will sing “What Girls Do”. Have a listen to their entry below:

In addition, we have eleven-year-old Anna, who was a finalist on The Voice Kids in 2017. Listen to her entry “Touch Each Other’s Heart” here.

The final two artists in the running have yet to reveal their song. This includes duo Anne and Max, and Kiya.

A change for The Netherlands

This year, AVROTROS has made a few changes regarding their way of selecting their entry. The four candidates will perform their own entries at the show. After that, the public will decide on which one of them will go to Minsk. This means they will not be performing covers like in previous years.
Tickets to the final can be purchased via this link.

  1. My ranking (if NL choose one of these songs):
    1. Belarus Mariya Zhilina-Welcome To My Belarus (if this song is confirmed) ………..that is so damn catchy, traditional, not too adult / not too childish
    2. The Netherlands Anna – Touch each other\’s heart / REMIX – WHAT GIRLS DO
    3. Russia Anna Filipchuk-Invincible
